Young frog?

We've had a couple of young frogs in the house this week - both VERY curious and exploring everything, seemingly unafraid of us.

I thought it a little late for frogs, but we had young toads earlier in the year and these definitely jumped much more and had a totally different profile, plus no lumpy bits - very smooth and sleek.

Any ideas? What happens to them now? I thought they hibernated? I saw one clearly the night before last, looking for food under the bird feeders. It hopped into the ivy under the trees.

Any info appreciated.

Cath

Cheers from across the pond.

Amphibians are very cold tolerant. I'm assuming you live in a colder climate. Frogs will be active through November and can still be found in the dead of winter under rocks streamside along with salamanders.
