Sparrow with solid white crown?

| At our backyard feeders, we have spotted what we thought was a white-crowned sparrow, but the crown is solid white- no stripes. We've only seen one (at a time), and it usually appears with other common sparrows. Could this be a variant of the white-crowned, or is it a different species? I live in southcentral Kansas. |
