I am wondering if it takes a long time to attract finches to my yard.

I have read up and I have the appropriate feeders. One with a multi seed finch food & one is nyjer thistle. I put in a fountain for a water source too.
Does it take long to attract them? I do have two dogs, but they are old and lazy,and in an area fenced, away from the feeders by about 25 ft.
